Gary Lee Perkins Jr. 


was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on February 20, 1964

to Gary Lee Perkins Sr and the late Betty Jane Tarver-Perkins. The Lord
called him home on Friday, March 13th, 2020. He was the only child from his
parent’s union and is the oldest of his two siblings. He was a member of
Union Bethel AME Church until his death. Gary graduated from McDonough High School in 1983 and shortly thereafter he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours and separated from active duty in 1990 earning the rank of CPL E-4, Corporal. He earned Sea Service Deployment ribbon, Good Conduct medal and Expert Rifle badge.  He had two sons, Gary and Jermaine Perkins, born in 1988 and 1990 from his first marriage. On September 20, 1996 he married Michelle and from this union they had two sons, Sean and Randy, and two daughters, Rachel and Mya. In his pastime he enjoyed bush crafting, watching war and suspenseful movies and spending time with his family and pets. He had a soft spot for animals and was affectionately known by his family as Dr. Dolittle. His dream was to go travel across the country in his trailer while enjoying the outdoors.  He was known as GaryLee, Dad, De-ad, and Pop by his family. He is survived by his wife of 23 year Michelle (Waldorf, MD) sons Gary (Washington, D.C)  Jermaine (Waldorf, MD) Sean (College Park, MD) Randy (College Park, MD) his daughters Rachel (Waldorf, MD) Mya (Waldorf, MD) sister Kensey Castro Merritt (Sacramento, CA) his brother Garrett Perkins (Sacramento, CA) his aunt Gloria Reynolds (Pittsburgh, PA) uncle Elking (TempleHills, MD) uncle Ted, aunt Paula, Uncle Ronny and beloved cousins and hosts of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Visitation will be private.  (Invitation By Family Only).  Private Interment Monday March 30, 2020 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Maryland.
